Dallas Police announced September 1, 2026 that 321 Flock cameras supported by affected Texas state grant funding will be canceled effective September 15 after Gov. Greg Abbott ordered state agencies to pause Flock funding. DPD said more than 300 other Flock cameras funded by the city or federal grants will keep operating. The City Council had approved a three-year, about $5.7 million Flock contract in May 2025, with nearly $1.7 million tied to Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority grant money.
