Aug 2026 · Contract canceled
Hopkinton, MA
The Town of Hopkinton announced August 20, 2026 that it terminated its Flock Safety contract immediately after a legal review found statutory deficiencies that make the agreement unlawful under Massachusetts law. Town Manager Elaine Lazarus said municipal contracts must comply with procurement law. The town asked Flock to turn the cameras off as soon as possible and remove them by September 30. Two cameras had been up about five months; two more had been planned.
