Aug 2026 · Vendor switch
Pasco County, FL
Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco notified commissioners he is terminating the Dec. 10, 2024 interlocal agreement for license-plate detection systems in county rights-of-way, effective Sept. 30, 2026, after Aug. 11 and Aug. 25 board meetings showed a majority no longer supported it. Bay News 9 framed the exit as ending Flock / license-plate detection. Earlier (Aug. 10), Tampa Bay 28 reported the Sheriff’s Office planned to replace some Flock ALPRs with Axon; whether that swap proceeded after the county-ROW termination is not confirmed. Private and FDOT state-ROW cameras are not covered by the termination.
