Class action alleges Georgia deputies used Flock to track a man who was suing the sheriff
Tyler Murkerson filed a proposed class action in federal court in the Northern District of Georgia against Flock, Coweta County, Sheriff Lenn Wood, and several sheriff's office employees. He alleges deputies searched his car on Flock's network over a 197-day period in 2025 while his earlier excessive-force lawsuit against the sheriff was pending, entering reasons such as "info" and "37" that matched no investigation. The suit also claims Flock's free-text search-reason field let unjustified searches through. These are allegations that haven't been proven in court, and a judge hasn't certified the class. Flock hadn't publicly responded as of Oct. 13; the company has said every search is logged and that officers who misuse the system should be held accountable. The case is Murkerson v. Flock Group, Inc., No. 3:26-cv-00223 (N.D. Ga.).
