Elgin Community College covered Flock cameras with trash bags after Flock refused to remove them
The college asked Flock to remove its six campus cameras in October 2025, citing concern for immigrant students. The college president said Flock refused because the contract hadn't been breached. Staff covered the cameras with trash bags and zip ties, and workers she assumed were Flock's kept removing the covers until the contract expired in April 2026. The college's own audit found no sign that immigration agents had accessed its data.
