Little Rock puts three officers on paid leave over alleged Flock misuse; city weighs non-renewal
Mayor Frank Scott Jr. announced Monday that three police officers were placed on paid administrative leave after a routine third-quarter audit flagged improper use of the department's Flock license-plate reader system. No charges have been announced and the investigation is ongoing; the mayor said discipline could go up to termination. It follows the July firing of another officer after an audit found he searched one person's plate 28 times in 10 days. Police are moving from quarterly to monthly audits. Vice Mayor B.J. Wyrick said the city should stop using the cameras until there are more safeguards, and City Director Antwan Phillips raised a possible amendment on not renewing the Flock contract in the coming weeks. The board approved a two-year, $690,000 renewal in October 2025.
