Baraboo, Wisconsin ends its Flock camera pilot; cameras go dark in November
On Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026, the Baraboo Common Council voted not to continue using the six Flock Safety license plate reader cameras the city installed as part of a one-year pilot program, WiscNews reported. The cameras will be turned off in November. The pilot was paid for with private donations rather than city funds. When the council approved it in an 8-1 vote in August 2025, fundraising of just over $20,000 covered the cost, and Police Chief Justin Carloni said five cameras would sit at fixed spots, mostly on the city's edges, with one moved around for special events, WiscNews reported at the time.
