Milwaukee County covers Flock cameras in parks and won't fund the contract for 2027
On Monday, County Executive David Crowley signed a resolution directing removal of Flock cameras from county parks. Park crews had already begun covering the cameras last week so they stop collecting data. The county's Flock contract expires in December, and the proposed 2027 budget does not include funding. The sheriff's office has argued the cameras helped cut certain park crimes; Milwaukee Police Department has signaled it may renew its own separate Flock contract with new audit rules. Crowley said none of the documented statewide misuse cases involved Milwaukee County employees.
