Sugar Hill, Georgia keeps its two Flock cameras after the mayor breaks a tie
Sugar Hill council member Gary Pirkle proposed an ordinance to turn off the city's two license plate cameras and require council approval for any new ones. The council vote tied, and Mayor Brandon Hembree cast the deciding no vote, WSB-TV reported Oct. 14, 2026. Hembree then broke a second tie to put city staff in charge of writing a policy for how the cameras are used. Pirkle said the cameras went up about two years ago without council discussion; council member Alvin Hicks argued for safeguards instead of a ban.
