Flock hires a Washington lobbying firm whose team includes major House Democratic fundraisers, disclosures show
Flock Safety has retained Invariant, a Washington lobbying firm, to lobby on the "use of public safety and surveillance technology," according to a federal lobbying registration filed Sept. 24 with an Aug. 10 effective date, Sludge reported on Oct. 16, 2026. Politico Influence first reported the hire on Oct. 15 as part of an expansion of Flock's lobbying operation, according to Sludge. Sludge reported that three lobbyists on the account are major bundlers for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), credited with more than $2 million in combined bundled contributions since 2024. The hire comes as some Democratic lawmakers, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sens. Bernie Sanders and Jeff Merkley, have proposed broadly prohibiting federal use of automated license plate readers, Sludge noted. The sources we reviewed did not include a comment from Flock.
